INSPIRACIÓN
Toward the second half of the 20th century, several restaurants began to appear between kilometers 78 and 102 along the Pan-American Highway. They became known for their traditional Guatemalan food as well as products influenced by European immigrants Swiss, French, Italian, and Swedish—who settled in Tecpán because of its climate and fertile land. Today these restaurants are known not only for their traditional cuisine but also for their dairy products and their distinctive smoked sausages.
